The PPL (Private Pilot Licence) is open to anyone in good physical condition from the age of 17 (entry into training from the age of 15) and if you are able to "pilot" a car in current traffic conditions, you probably have all the qualities required to fly a light aircraft. Doing it safely and efficiently is a matter of method and rigor and this is precisely what Cannes Aviation will bring you.
Get on board for a genuine flight training, just like one of our student pilots... You will fly a single engine Diamond Star DA40.
One of our instructors will outline the basics of piloting and you will prepare your flight together.
After the pre-flight safety inspection that you will perform together, you will get on board, take the left seat—the pilot’s—turn on the engine and taxi out to the threshold of the runway under control from the tower.
Your instructor will manage the take-off but you will go right along with him, hands on the controls! Once in the air, after a few explanations, the plane controls will be turned over entirely to you for your first manoeuvers: turns, climbs, levelling off, descents.
You will fly over the Lérins Islands, Saint Tropez Bay or the snow-capped Southern Alps.
When your session is over, you will again be right with your instructor in the final approach and landing.
If this first experience awakens your desire to continue, you can begin training to obtain your PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE or just fllow a PILOTING DISCOVERY course.
You can also give an initiation flight to a significant person in your life to mark an important event: anniversary, birthday, passing an exam... and to allow him or her to enjoy the pleasure of taking the controls of an airplane for the first time! We will issue a “gift voucher” for an initiation flight that you can hand to the future pilot.
The purpose of this course is to learn the basics of theory and piloting and get familiar with the aeronautical world. Upon completion of your training course, you can continue Private Pilot License – PPL
Cannes Aviation has developed a training program for the Private Pilot License (PPL) on single-engine Diamond DA40 aircraft adapted to the Cannes-Mandelieu environment. Learning is progressive and each trainee benefits from an individualized follow-up based on an electronic progress booklet that guarantees that all the exercises in the program have been taught and completed.
Prerequisite: See PPL [A]-SEP training brochure
The Night Rating is a particularly attractive complement to the PPL-SEP Private Pilot License (which, basically, only allows daytime flying) and opens up a whole new area of flight experience for you; reduced air traffic, no turbulence, city and airport lights, sunset in full flight. A whole new atmosphere is offered to you while enhancing your pilot skills.
The Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) rating is an important complement to the private pilot licence. With it, you can fly Multi-Engine Piston aircraft anywhere in the world.
The EASA IR(A)SE or ME rating is very similar to the IR National training. Getting the theory certificates – there are 7 of them – is however quite demanding for pilots who want to fly under IFR as a leisure activity. It is especially intended for potential Commercial Pilots. The holder can fly anywhere abroad provided he/she has obtained the English language proficiency certificate (FCL 1.028)
